MEMPHIS, TN, May 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The physicians and staff of Peabody Family Care have announced the addition of Heather Wanner, FNP and Michelle James, FNP to their medical staff. The nurse practitioners will be working with Drs. Martin Acree and Joyce Brasfield to care for the practice's growing clientele of patients.

According to Dr. Martin Acree, senior partner in the group: "We are so excited to have two ladies of such high caliber as additions to our staff. Both have already proven that they can relate very well to our patients, listening to their concerns and giving them a thorough evaluation. Heather and Michelle will definitely be strong assets to our group."

Originally from Colorado, Heather Wanner moved to Memphis in 1994 and worked at Methodist Central (University) Hospital as an RN until 1997, when she obtained her nurse practitioner certification from Delta State University. Her practice history as a nurse practitioner includes Graceland Internal Medicine, Family Cancer Center, and Southwind Medical Specialists. In 2004, Mrs. Wanner left the employment of Southwind to move to Lappeenranta, Finland, with her husband, who received a job transfer with International Paper. During her four years there, she performed volunteer work with the Lappeenranta School of Nursing as well as with the local nursing community.

Mrs. Wanner is married and has two children. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with family.

Her nursing experience includes ten years as a case manager for the Tennessee Medicaid Waiver program. During her tenure there, she made numerous home visits, supervised the nursing assistants, and coordinated handling of equipment and transportation needs for her clients. Mrs. James also spent four years as a wound care surgical sales device consultant for Kinetic Concepts, Inc. Through this position, she marketed advanced treatment options for chronic wounds.

Mrs. James is married and has four teenage children. Outside of the office, she spends lots of time at her children's sporting events, and is an avid flower gardener.
