Noteworthy Acupuncturist Rounds Out the Living Well Health & Wellness Center's Team of Health Professionals
The Living Well Heath & Wellness Center found itself without an acupuncturist at the end of July, 2008, but Michelle Solomon will fill the vacancy September 1st when she officially moves from a private practice to part of the Living Well Team.

Enter Michelle Solomon.

Solomon's traditional education includes a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, a M.S. in Kinesiology, and a M.B.A with an emphasis in management. Ms. Solomon completed 4 years of study in Oriental Medicine receiving a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine, including acupuncture and Chinese herbology. Additional training includes Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal massage) and NADA (auricular acupuncture for addiction). Ms. Solomon is a licensed acupuncturist and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine.

Ms. Solomon specializes in pain management and anxiety disorders; however the
'whole-istic' effects of acupuncture corrects other imbalances as well. As noted by one patient:

"In the past 3 years I have regularly been doing acupuncture (once every 4-6 weeks) as a preventive measure. In that time, I have literally been truly sick only once. Even then, Michelle helped me tremendously by treating the sinus discomfort w/ acupuncture, and giving me Chinese herbal tea for the viral infection. I have insurance and go to my OB/GYN once a year for a yearly/pap smear and for a mammogram, but the rest of the time I haven't had to go to a western doctor. It actually ends up being less expensive for me to use acupuncture in this preventive way than it was when I just treated symptoms with doctor visits and prescriptions before. Though she studied the "alternative" medicine of acupuncture, Solomon believes that God intends for us - humans - to be healthy, happy and fulfilled.

"I believe that God created us to be healthy and happy which makes it possible for us to live a life free from disease and illness," Solomon said. "We were not created to be sick. I also believe that everything we need for health is available in nature. Health is a balance of spiritual, emotional and physical well-being."

Starting at Living Well Health & Wellness Center on September 1st, Solomon wants to be one of the most well-known acupuncturists in the country, in addition to helping spread the message about acupuncture and educating the public about it while always caring for her clients.
